Probability made practical
How to Estimate Implied Probability
Implied probability helps translate a JIL168 price into a percentage. Divide 1 by the decimal odd, then multiply the result by 100. For example, 1 divided by 2.50 equals 0.40, so the basic implied probability is 40%.
(1 ÷ Decimal Odds) × 100 = Implied Probability
Suppose JIL168 lists Team A at 1.67. The basic calculation gives an implied probability of about 59.9%. Team B at 2.30 gives about 43.5%. Added together, those figures exceed 100% because sportsbook markets normally include a margin. That margin is one reason the displayed prices should not be treated as perfect forecasts.
Implied probability is most helpful when compared with your own careful estimate. If you believe an outcome has a stronger chance than the JIL168 price suggests, you may consider the price more attractive. Your estimate can still be wrong, however, so research never removes risk.
Filipino fans often know their preferred leagues deeply, but familiarity can create bias. A favourite PBA team, volleyball club, or MMA fighter may feel safer than the available evidence supports. JIL168 users should separate support for a team from an objective betting decision.
